- It is used to control Rice insects. It belongs to the group of Organophosphates. It works as a cholinesterase inhibitor.
- Mode of action : Chloro GR is a broad-spectrum insecticide that kills insects upon contact by affecting the normal function of the nervous system. When insects are exposed, chlorpyrifos binds to the active site of the cholinesterase (ChE) enzyme, which prevents breakdown of ACh in the synaptic cleft. It is a non-systemic insecticide with contact, stomach and respiratory action.
Applications
- For application in Rice, 2-3 cm standing water should be available in the field.
- Keep water impounded for 2-3 days after application.
- It is used to control coleopteran, Diptera, Homoptera and Lepidoptera in soil or on foliage.
- RECOMMENDATION: It is used to control stemborer, Leaf roller, Gall midge of rice .
