Technical Content: Glyphosate.
Mode of Action: Non-Selective post-emergent.
Dosage: 0.8-1 liter/acre (approx. 200 to 250 Liters of water)
Method of application: Spray
Spectrum: For killing all weeds (non-selective); use only when there is no standing crop
Compatibility: Compatible with sticking agents
Duration of effect: 1 month of application
Frequency of application: Depends on pest incidence or severity of the disease.
Applicable crops: Tea, Non-Cropped Areas and others
Extra Description: No need to mix salt in tank and compulsorily use clean water; Must be sprayed on weeds when there is sufficient moisture in the soil; must not be sprayed on a standing crop
Important Note:
1. Read the herbicide label carefully and follow the direction on the label.
2. Use only a Flat fan or Cut nozzle for spraying any herbicide.
3. Wash the sprayer with clean water before and after spraying.
4. Use the proper dose as per recommendation. A high dose can lead to damage to crops and a low dose can lead to fewer results.
5. Mix the herbicide in small quantities (1-2 liters) or water first and then make the required volume with water (120-200 L/acre).
6. Use a minimum of 120 L of water in an acre for herbicide spraying.
7. Do not spray herbicide on windy and rainy days.
8. Judge the stage of crop and weeds in case of post-emergence application.
9. Store the herbicide in labeled containers and away from food materials and children.
10. Ensure proper moisture is there in the soil before the application of any herbicide.
Crop Stage: Sprayed only on bunds and borders of the field if there is a standing crop, and directly on the weeds in the orchard
1) What is Roundup Glyphosate 41% SL?
Roundup Glyphosate 41% SL is a non-selective herbicide containing 41% glyphosate. It's used to control a wide range of weeds and grasses by inhibiting a specific enzyme pathway found in plants.
2) How does glyphosate work?
Glyphosate works by blocking a specific enzyme pathway called the shikimic acid pathway, which is essential for plant growth. This pathway is not present in animals or humans, making glyphosate effective against plants while being relatively safe for humans and animals.
3) What types of plants does Roundup target?
Roundup is non-selective, meaning it will kill or damage most plants it comes into contact with, including grasses, broadleaf weeds, and woody plants. It should be used carefully to avoid harming desirable plants.
4) How do you apply Roundup Glyphosate 41% SL?
Mixing: Dilute the herbicide with water according to the label instructions. Commonly, a typical dilution rate is 1-2 ounces of glyphosate per gallon of water.
Application: Use a sprayer to apply the solution directly to the leaves of the target weeds. Make sure to cover the leaves thoroughly.
Timing: Apply when weeds are actively growing. Avoid applying just before heavy rain, which can wash away the herbicide.
5) What safety precautions should be taken?
Protective Gear: Wear gloves, protective clothing, and eye protection to avoid skin and eye contact.
Avoid Inhalation: Apply in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhaling the mist.
Environmental Safety: Avoid application near water bodies, as glyphosate can potentially affect aquatic life.
6) How long does it take for Roundup to work?
You should see visible results, such as wilting or yellowing, within 7-14 days after application. The exact time may vary based on the type of weed, weather conditions, and the health of the weeds.
7) Can Roundup be used on all types of surfaces?
Roundup is typically used in outdoor areas like gardens, lawns, and pathways. It should not be used on or near areas where desirable plants are growing unless those plants are protected from contact.
8) What should you do if Roundup contacts desirable plants?
Immediately wash off the herbicide from the plant with water to minimize damage. In cases where significant damage occurs, the plant might not recover.
9) How should you store Roundup Glyphosate 41% SL?
Store the herbicide in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children and pets. Ensure the container is tightly sealed when not in use.
10) Is Roundup Glyphosate 41% SL safe for pets and wildlife?
While glyphosate is generally considered low-risk to pets and wildlife once dried, it’s best to keep animals away from treated areas until the herbicide has completely dried.
